Reishi, (Gandoderma lucidum)
is known as ling zhi "Mushroom of Immortality" in China.
It has been used in China for over 4,000 years and researched most
extensively in Japan as an anti-tumoral and cancer preventative.
Reishi has been shown to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and
reduce the likelihood of metastasis. As a preventative, it stimulates
the immune system to activate both B-lymphocytes and T-lymphocytes
natural T-killer cells, improving immune surveillance.
It can be effective against food allergies and is valuable in the
treatment of Epstein-Barr virus and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Other
conditions Reishi may be beneficial for include high cholesterol and
hyperlipidemia, high blood pressure, and degenerative type symptoms
where weak and poorly regulated immune response is observed.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a completely natural substance found
in food, the air and the human body, but its powerful medicinal
properties have only recently been discovered. MSM is a form of organic
sulfur, a mineral of which many are deficient. Deficiency of sulfur
shows up as chronic fatigue, mental depression, weakness, poor
resistance to infection, and slow healing from wounds or disease.
MSM has been found beneficial in many pain related conditions including;
arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic back pain, chronic headaches,
muscle pain, fibromyalgia, tendonitis and bursitis, carpal tunnel

Alpha-Lipoic Acid
A lpha-Lipoic Acid is known best for its versatility. It is
easily absorbed and converted into useable forms in the cells and
tissues. It functions in both fatty and watery regions of the cells and
quenches hydroxyl and single-oxygen free radicals. It also converts in
the body to dihydrolipoic acid that neutralizes peroxyl and
peroxynitrite free radicals. Alpha-Lipoic acid is also unique because it
helps the body recycle and renew vitamin C, vitamin E, Co-Q10 and
glutathione, thus extending their metabolic lifetimes.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid is used in Germany to treat adult-onset diabetes and
diabetic complications. Its action increases the sugar-burning activity
of insulin and reduces insulin-resistance. Insulin resistance is a major
underlying cause of adult-onset diabetes and a prominent factor in
coronary heart disease and obesity.
Research indicates that the ability of a cell to protect itself from

directly correlated to the amount of glutathione present in the cell.
The amount of glutathione in the cell is also related to the integrity

killer cell activity, and increases the number of antibody-forming
cells.
